My Favourite Spoon Baby Spoon by Vivianna Torun Bulow-Hube for Georg Jensen

Designed by Vivianna Torun Blulow-Hube in 1994, this series of children’s cutlery in sterling silver was inspired by Vivianna’s early childhood in Sweden.

She explains, ” When I behaved well as a child, I was rewarded with something tasty to eat. Strawberries with cream, home-made ice cream or jam. Best of all, I was allowed to eat with great-grandmother’s christening spoon. For me it became the symbol of a happy life. It became my favorite spoon. Since then I have always felt that a spoon may be a declaration of love; from the one who loves you- to your hands that hold it and to your lips that embrace it. That is why I created My Favourite Spoon. I have hidden a heart in the design as the eternal symbol of love.”

Vivianna Torun Blow-Hbe (1927 2004) was born in Malm Sweden. She graduated from the Academy of Industrial Arts in Stockholm in 1945 and in 1956 she settled in Paris where she quickly became known for her jewelry.
