Red Art Glass Bowl, 12″ by Michael & Frances Higgins
Produced by Frances and Michael Higgins, this glass bowl utilizes thefused slumping technique where glass is placed upon a mold and heated. Gravity does the rest. The decor is done using powdered material that virtrifies during the process.
France and Michael Higgins were Chicago-area glass artists. Although considered in the contemporary art glass realm, many of their Dearborn Glass production works (non-studio) were retailed in major department stores. Their studio work is in a number of museums, including the Corning Museum of Glass.
Condition is as new.
