Untitled Still Life with Fruit Oil on Canvas by Isaac Pailes (1895-1978)

Pailes was born in Kiev. A Ukranian Jew, Pailes moved to Paris in the early 20th century and became part of the Ecole de Paris along with Marc Chagall, Modigliani and other contemporaries.

A very Fauvist color palette, although this painting is more than likely from a later period.

The painting measures 9″ x 10.5″ and is signed on the lower right.
Frame measures 13.5″ x 122″ x 1.75″ approx.

Condition is good with some cracking to paint, minor loss and some wear to frame.
